Week 7

We're over the hump! After today you will have posted your numbers 7 times and there's only 6 to go. That's not a lot of time, but enough that we can still get some major results. I hope everyone is feeling great about where they are at. If you're not or if you are feeling like you could use a little bit more direction...here is something Kelli told me about that Katrina told her about.

It's called myfitnesspal.com and I love it. You create an account and it will help you know how many calories you should eat in order to lose weight at whatever rate you want to lose the weight at. It has a food and exercise log as well. Say you have an egg, egg white, and piece of toast for breakfast along with a cup of grapes. Put it into your food log and it will tell you how many calories, fat, and protein is in the meal. If that's something you think you might have again, save it and you can add it quickly next time.

I've been using it this past week and it's been a great tool for me. One thing I tried a few times is sitting down with my computer after I put the babies to bed. That's when I decide what I'm going to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day and I put in 2 snacks as well. It helps give me an idea of how many calories I have left over or if I need to reevaluate my choices. It cuts back on much of my impulsive eating (you know, when you're making dinner and you just want to snack on something or you're feeding your kid crackers and you just want one).

A few things to be aware of...many of the foods are submitted by other members so check to make sure it's right or at least that it's been confirmed by other members. It also doesn't seem to have an official way to track fruits and veggies. I personally think that's an important part of weight loss. They'll also help you to feel full, but don't break the bank.

Please share you success with this or any other method in the comments section of this post. It's good to learn from others.

  1. You've gotta try this out! It totally put things in perspective for me. I thought I was doing really well at cutting calories but once I started logging everything that made it past my lips I was surprised I needed to scale back even more.
